This seems appropriate for today. I’m feeling like good vibes will be coming through any minute now. How can they not when you have quilting and fabric on your mind? That is one of the many things I love about sewing. Whenever I’m in need of positive vibes or thoughts, I take a peek at my fabric stash, and it ALWAYS makes me smile. All the bright colors and patterns are the best recipe for a cheerful mood. There will always be negative energy out there, but there is something about making something useful with your own two hands that can make all the negativity around you go away.
These next photos are very near and dear to me. My sweet little Camrynn recently graduated from preschool. I made both of her teachers a super cute quilt as a parting gift, and these are some of the photos we snagged from our little shoot. This quilt was created with the Best of Sarah Jane line from Michael Miller Fabrics, picked out especially by Miss Camrynn. The childlike, whimsical prints were perfect for the occasion not to mention the awesome balloons. If you are looking for fabric to capture a specific childhood memory, I highly suggest looking into Sarah Jane’s fabric lines. She is an exceptional artist and can capture childhood innocence like no other.
These quilts were made using 5-inch squares and straight line quilting. They came out so stinkin’ cute if I do say so myself! Camrynn approved, and she was sure her teachers would too!
Please excuse the hair; it was a little windy out this day, so we tucked most of it under the quilt long enough to snap a quick shot!
Last but not least, the sweet little graduate on her special day! (Gosh I love that missing tooth!)
In the end, Project Graduation Quilts were a success and loved by all. We will sure miss you, Miss Judi and Miss Diane! :
